Mudhasi wants a temporary injunction restraining the investigating agencies from conducting any further criminal investigations into her judicial work until the determination of the main application challenging the legality of subjecting her to three parallel criminal investigations.
According to Juma Nyene, the University Communications Officer, Edongu was suspended last week to pave way for investigations into circumstances under which he was recruited into Soroti University and promoted into a senior position without following the right procedure.
Nakalema noted that her visit was informed by several complaints especially regarding issues at Moroto Regional Referral Hospital and boreholes that were allegedly not drilled. Other concerns were illegal recruitment of staff, misplaced priorities affecting smooth operations in the hospital and procurement-related issues.
Major Telesphor Turyamumanya, the 5th Division Army Spokesperson, confirmed the arrest of the suspects, saying they will appear before the court martial. He says the decision to try the suspects in the court martial was reached following consultations with the CID headquarters.

Andrew Onapito was arrested on Thursday from St. Katherine Girls School and is being held at Lira Central Police Station. It is alleged that Onapito and three other suspects last week stormed the school and arrested Rose Nagwala, the headmistress.

The missing funds were meant to finance activities in the Water Department including the rehabilitation, repair and drilling of new boreholes during the financial year 2017/2018.
Those arrested includes, District Water Officer, Bony Otieno, Head of Internal Audit, Alex Ojom, Chief Finance Officer, Stephen Andoye and Moses Okidi, the Community Development Officer in charge Awei Sub County.
The URA officials include Hassan Miiro and Ferdinand Albaker Wamala plus a clerk in the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Nabweru Sarah Namakula. They are all accused of soliciting for bribes and abuse of office and conspiracy to defraud.
