While addressing journalists in her home in Namwendwa town council in Kamuli district on Sunday morning, Salamu argued that she withdrew the petition against Kadaga at the prompting of several elders from the Busoga sub-region indicating that decision would reduce conflicts between top leaders and their supporters alike.
Although both Salaamu and Kadaga have each kept on pledging to increase developmental projects in Kamuli district without publicly demeaning each other, supporters of both camps have engaged themselves in endless physical and verbal attacks.
Kadaga, who was speaking at the launch of the distribution of government face masks in Kamuli district on Saturday said that most communities have abandoned the presidential directives on social distancing and handwashing, putting them at a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 in case of an outbreak.
Eva Namwase, a cane farmer Kaliro district, said that a part from under payment, factories take long to weigh their cane and at times reject it citing poor quality.
