“One of them is a female teacher who goes to class with a very big bag that has many things inside and starts teaching. She doesn’t beat people but when you see the things she does, she looks to be mentally disturbed,” Tibakanya explained.
Samuel Zimbe, a P.6 and P.7 teacher, says this is the worst kind of learning environment that any pupil can ever be in. He explains that due to the nature of the building materials, they are unable to incorporate other teaching methods like use of charts since they don’t have where to hang them.
The government-owned school, was last month hit by a storm that destroyed most of its dilapidated structures that were being used as classroom blocks for five classes. The pupils are currently studying under trees and in a nearby church.
