Godfrey Mwesigwa, the chairperson of Jinja Christian leaders’ fellowship says that, they have been registering cases of manipulation, where presumed pastors extort money from believers, with promises of making miracles in their lives, which are never realized.
The girl was reportedly killed by Joseph Sserubiri, the lead pastor of Deliverance Church in Kakira market zone and his wife, Felista Namaganda, who had rented church space from John Mulodi, the father of the deceased. The two had gone missing together with the child in late September.
"The health workers in Mulago hospital accorded us all the necessary attention required to save Babirye, but we lacked funds to purchase essential medicines which partly contributed to her demise," her sister says.
