According to police, while in Hoima City on Monday evening around 5 pm on Monday evening, the suspects kidnapped Aisha Nema. They bundled their victim in a Toyota Premio registration number UBH 627C and drove off at breakneck speed.
Tukamushaba, who is currently detained at Hoima central Police station is accused of impersonation as a Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence-CMI personnel with the aim of defrauding guest house owners in Hoima City of their money. He was arrested on Sunday afternoon in Hoima City.
The six were caught red-handed by police conducting lessons in disregard of the presidential directive closing all schools for 42 days as part of the measures to contain the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
The suspects whose names have been concealed for fear of jeopardizing police investigations are accused of allegedly murdering Domian Byaruhanga, a resident of Kifumura village in Kyohairwe parish Buhanika sub county of Hoima district.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police spokesperson told Uganda Radio Network the suspects attacked and destroyed two vehicles belonging to Mugasa’s camp. They smashed the windscreens of both vehicles.
They argue that the security personnel are partisan by siding with the National Resistance Movement-NRM Party. They also accuse the Electoral Commission of failing to take charge of the whole electoral process.
The suspects are believed to be the ring leaders who mobilized NUP supporters from various parts of Hoima City to block the Hoima-Fort Portal road who were protesting the arrest of Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi wine, the President National Unity Platform-NUP.
The duo was arrested on Tuesday evening few minutes after they arrived in Hoima town ahead of the peaceful demonstration against the sale and destruction of Bugoma forest reserve situation in Kyangwali and Kabwoya sub counties in Kikuube district.
Supporters of both parties had converged at Duhaga Roundabout in Hoima West Division for a planning meeting ahead of the 2021 general elections. It is alleged that the meeting was going to be chaired by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, the National Unity Platform Principal and champion of the People Power pressure group.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Region Police Spokesperson, says the minor’s parents were attending a vigil in the neighborhood when fire gutted their grass thatched house. He says the parents were alerted by an alarm made by the neighbors.
It is alleged that Tumuramye together with others still at large raided Hoima Central Police Station on June 12, 2020, and stole a motorcycle registration number UEB703R belonging to Dickson Kaahwa of Kyamagiiga village in Buhimba sub-county.
