Businesses that have not yet been allowed to operate after easing the lockdown in order to reduce the rapid spread of COVID-19 are to remain unoperational till further notice.
The abattoir, sitting on 40 acres of land at Kyetume trading centre near the Uganda Railway Corporation inland container depot in Mukono, was set up in the 1960s. At the time, it housed the biggest slaughterhouse and a cattle market in the Central region.
Samari Musenero, the Mukono District Health Secretary notes that there are several pubs and bars where open cigarette smoking is practiced. According to Musenero, they have teamed up with security to monitor and close all public places violating the ban on Shisa and public smoking.
