On March 18, 2025, Ndawula, alongside other Muslims, led a protest in Kampala and petitioned the Speaker of Parliament, challenging the extension of Sheikh Ramadhan Mubaje’s tenure as Mufti of Uganda. Ndawula argued that Mubaje, having clocked 70 years, was ineligible for an extension.
In the meeting chaired by Mulindwa, the lead petitioner Muhammadi Sserunjongi a member of the Majlis Al-Ulama (College of Sheikhs) read the petition before the members in which he accused Ndawula of using his position to mobilize other Muslims to oppose the re-election of Mubaje without consulting them.
Balinda accuses Byaruhanga and his executive of failing to monitor and supervise government projects in the district. Balinda argues that the failure to monitor government projects resulted in shoddy works.
Top on the accusations against Sheikh Irumba was the allegation that he forged a minute of the Regional College of Sheikhs meeting in Fort portal that he used in the failed dismissal of Bunyoro District Kadhi Sheikh, Ashraf Kugonza last year.
The warring parties reconciled on Monday during a meeting that was chaired by the Bishop of Kitara Diocese Rt. Rev. George William Kasangaki at Nyamigisa catholic parish headquarters.
