This request was made at Bulange Mengo where the Silverbacks basketball team met Katikkiro Mayiga to inform him of their exploits in the recently concluded FIBA Afro basket held in Kigali, Rwanda in which the team finished at quarterfinal.
Hudson Ssegamwenge, Vice President in charge of administration at FUBA says that the decision was taken after four clubs failed to confirm their participation. They include City Oilers, KIU Titans, Namuwongo Blazers and JKL.
Hudson Ssegamwenge, the Vice President Administration in FUBA, says that the Federation has okayed the resumption of the league under restrictions to successfully accomplish the remaining games of the league.
Ahead of the games, FUBA does not have funds to facilitate the team. Nasser Sserunjoji, the FUBA President doubts if the team will take part in the games.
The Uganda Basketball team led by the Federation of Basketball Association (FUBA) borrowed 100,000 US Dollars to with the hope of being reimbursed by Government.
Arnold Katabi Vice President of Marketing, media and publicity at FUBA says that the team needed more than 100,000 United States Dollars to prepare for the qualifiers.
The team is set to play away games against Morocco and Cape Verde. However, the Silverbacks will qualify if they win the first game against Morocco to secure their position at the Afro Basket finals slated for August 24-September 5 in Kigali, Rwanda.
The NCS has been receiving 18 Billion Shillings to distribute among over 50 Sports Federations and of which 10 Billion Shillings is allocated to the Federation of Uganda Football Association, FUFA.
According to Ogwel, the NCS requires 197 Billion Shillings to fund all the sports federations.

Brian Wathum, head coach of KIU Titans says his team has been working hard after signing new players. He says having new players will help them to compete for the championship this season.
