Jonbosco Kyaligonza, the Settlement commandant at Kyangwali refugee’s settlement area told Uganda Radio Network in an interview that the refugees including women, children and men reported to the settlement area on Thursday and Friday last week.
Dr Nicholas Kwikiriza, the Kikuube District Health officer-DHO confirmed the outbreak of the disease in an interview with Uganda Radio Network on Friday afternoon. This came after a 16-year old girl, a refugee and resident of Musiinsa A Village in the Kyangwali Refugee settlement area tested positive for the disease on April 28, 2021.
The body of Safi Mwiringire, a resident of Kyabitaka village in the Kyangwali refugee settlement area was found dumped in a sweet potato garden with fresh wounds on the head and face an indication that he was hit with a blunt object. The body was discovered on Friday evening.
