Harriet Akullo Okello, the chairperson Kica-Arwot Women Group, says they have decided to use Shillings 500,000 from part of their annual profit to renovate the police post. She says they want police personnel to be redeployed in the area since the crime has escalated.
Some of the roads that have remained in a poor state include Aboke to Ogur border in Lira district about 20km, Alito trading centre to Ngetta border in Lira district and Aboke to Otwal border in Oyam district.
The affected roads are under the district mandate to ensure routing maintenance with funding from the Uganda Roads Fund but have remained narrow, some bridges collapsed, blocked drainage channels and bushy.
