The child is currently receiving treatment at Kitgum General Hospital’s isolation unit. Komakech confirmed that a sample has been collected and will be transported to the Central Public Health Laboratory (CPHL) in Kampala for further confirmation through a Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test.

Expectant Mothers Stranded as Wind Blows Off Maternity Roof in Kitgum antenatal care 2

Collins Mwaka cox, the in-charge of Loborom Health Center III told Uganda Radio Network in an interview on Monday afternoon that the roof was blown to a distance of about 20 meters away from the maternity ward. Luckily, about 10 expectant mothers who were in the maternity ward at the time of the incident escaped unhurt.

Police Arrest 26 Kitgum Town College Students for Staging Violent Strike Kitgum Municipality

The students were protesting a decision by the administration to send some of them home, for failing to clear school dues, just days to the beginning of mock examinations. The examinations are due to begin on Monday, July 29.
