The facility serves more than 200 persons daily. Joseph Okullu, one of the patients who visited the facility last week, says he was forced to visit a toilet at the nearby trading centre. He says some patients have resorted to using nearby bushes for fear of putting their lives in danger.
Many business points in Kabale are largely highly populated and yet have limited or no toilets. Stories of people moving distances, sometimes out of the town to find urinals, are becoming part of the everyday conversation.
