They are accused of torching seven makeshift huts, burning 240 bags of stacked charcoal and hundreds of heaps of piled charcoal logs, killing poultry, damaging two solar panels and clothes belonging to Michael Okema Opilo the former Chairperson for Elegu Town council.
Patrick Jimmy Okema, the Aswa River Region Police Spokesperson, says that the suspects were picked up on Wednesday from their polling station with dozens of pre-ticked ballot papers for the Amuru district parliamentary candidates.
The heavy rains which started at around 8:00 a.m. and lasted for over six hours washed away Lakang Bridge which crosses over Lakang road, one of Amuru district`s major transport and business route connecting to Adjumani and Gulu districts.
Richard Komakech, the Otwee Town Council LC III Chairperson, says the suspects are members of a notorious criminal gang dubbed Atoo Tini loosely translated as ‘’I die Today’’.
