Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah said that he had not officially received the list of those appointed asking the President to avail the list to his office so that vetting of the ministers can take place.
Alupo is a retired Major of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF). She first joined the cabinet as State Minister for Youth in 2009 and later served as Minister of Education and Sports between 2011 and 2015. But she lost her parliamentary seat in 2016 to Violet Akurut Adome and failed to return to the post-election Cabinet.
“And the NRM is very strict on that. Even when mistakes occur, we follow them up. Like for instance during these elections which Bishop Ssemogerere talked about, there were mistakes. The Opposition made mistakes by being violent, by intimidating, attacking people because they are putting on yellow,” said Museveni.
Museveni who has just started the sixth term as the President of Uganda is expected to appoint his new Cabinet soon, for vetting by the Appointments Committee. Before the January 2021 general election, Museveni’s cabinet had a total of 79 Ministers, out of which 29 where Ministers while 50 were State Ministers.
According to Museveni, Christians need to be on guard against enemies of Uganda that he said resist development and transformation and push for sectarian interests based on religion and tribe. He said that this is the reason that government is preaching African Integration at all levels and all sectors especially trade and enhancement of all services across the African continent.

His closest challenger Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, of the National Unity Platform (NUP) secured 34.83 per cent of the vote.

It's now two months since we have not heard anything about him. Meanwhile the Law Society President Pheonah Wall Nabaasa has appealed to the president to appoint the head of Uganda Human Rights Commission. She argued that at the moment there are several human rights violation cases pending before the Commission but they cannot be resolved due to lack of Quorum.
