The victim, a Primary Three pupil of Ajulu Primary School was allegedly defiled by Thomas Tabu aged 48 on 18 October 2021. Tabu was caught red-handed by the victim’s father, Joseph Awacango P’Odong.

It is alleged that they aided the escape of Kerett Byonabye from Hoima Police Station. Byonabye is accused of defiling a 13-year-old girl, a student of St Cyprian Secondary school in Buhanika sub-county Hoima district.

The patient, a 30-year-old man varnished from the district on Thursday after realizing that his result turned positive for COVID-19.

The four transferred inmates are Jonan Agasa, Rogers Nowa, Godfrey Bakowa and Christopher Tumwesige. They were transferred on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Paul Ssenyonjo who had been on remand on charges of stealing cattle.

Detectives were surprised on Sunday morning when they went to conduct an early morning cell check and discovered that all the suspects were missing. The suspects were facing charges of murder and robbery.

A total of 750 former M23 rebel combatants are missing from Bihanga Military Training School in Ibanda district where they were taken for demobilisation.
