Sheikh Musa Khalil, the Acholi Kadhi and Co-Chair of the ARLPI told URN on Saturday that they are creating awareness about the pandemic through community engagements with local leaders to encourage people to adhere to the preventive measures.
Abdallah Latif Nasuru, the ARLPI Project Senior Officer told URN on Wednesday that the initiative aims at reducing land conflicts especially on boundaries which is rampant in the district based on their surveys.
Acholi District Khadi, Sheikh Musa Khalil pointed out that Uganda is not safe anymore with health centers filled up with COVID-19 patients, insufficient finance to fight the disease and lack of enough oxygen for those in critical condition. He expressed concern about the surging number of cases being registered in schools and the community.
Anglican Bishop Emeritus Nelson Onono Onweng, the Chairperson of the Acholi clerics under the Acholi Religious Leaders Peace Initiative (ARLPI) said that they are happy by the ICC`s judgement and termed it as ‘’considerate’’.
