Members of the Adhoc committee includes Bukanga North MP Nathan Byanyima, Bugweri county MP Abdul Katuntu, Kazo county MP Dan Kimosho, Kwania County MP Tony Ayoo, Kumi Woman MP Apolot Christine, Ntenjeru South MP Patrick Nsanjaa, Charles Bakabulindi the workers’ MP and Anna Adeke Ebaju Soroti City.
More than 60 agencies, commissions or authorities were to be disbanded, merged with others or returned to ministries as departments. Now Public Service Minister Wilson Muruli Mukasa says the process requires amendments in legislation. “Most of these agencies are created by acts of parliament and you cannot just abolish them,” he says.
Currently housed in Plot 7 Luthuli Close, Bugolobi, on the outskirts of Kampala, the commission employs 49 members of staff, in five departments; Finance, Administration, Legal Services and Investigations, Education, Training, Information and Communication, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation.
