Authorities in the Democratic Republic of Congo have arrested and detained a Ugandan for allegedly smuggling narcotic drugs into the country. Jim Leti, 22, a resident of Ngandi village, Logiri Sub-County in Arua district, was arrested with 5kilograms of opium at Azanga trading centre in DR Congo.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has taken over investigations into the death of Jeff Rice, an American Television producer who died from cocaine over dose last week. Rice, the former producer of the Reality Program the “Amazing Race†was Sunday morning found dead on the Balcony of his Serena Hotel room.
At least 11 people are in custody at Kabale Central Police Station on allegations of drug trafficking. The suspects who were arrested on Thursday night include five Rwandan nationals and six Ugandans.
