The District Returning Officer invited 372 Supervisors, presiding officers and polling assistants for training at St Joseph Vocational High School in Nakasongola town for training ahead of general elections to be held on Thursday, January 14.
“The Criminal Investigations Directorate is conducting investigations into allegations of abuse of office, conspiracy to defraud, embezzlement, fraudulent accounting and money laundering. Vide CIDHQTRS/94/2020,” the letter reads in part.
The funds comprise of 16 million Shillings meant for capacity building of school management committees, 17 million Shillings for monitoring of the UNICEF program, and the 3.2 million Shillings allocated to monitoring of the 2019 primary leaving exams.
