Matia Kakooza, the former Kimanya-Kabonera Division LC III Chairperson, who was listed among the targets, says the threats cannot be taken lightly, adding that they resolved to call for security meetings in the affected cells to find ways of neutralizing the threats.
Pascal Kagenda, the Chairperson of Nyendo Market Fish Dealers Association, who worked closely with the deceased, accuses Police officers of participating in the torture of the suspect before dumping him in the cells where he was again assaulted by other suspects.
The councilors accuse Frank Tuhaawe, the Officer in Charge of Kyanamukaka Police Station and Richard Muliika, the Sub County Reserve Force Commander for of profiteering from the enforcement of curfew guidelines in the area.
Paul Kangave, the Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson confirmed the MPs arrest but for allegedly inciting violence. He however, declined to divulge specifics of the charges against Ssekikubo but said his file has been sanctioned, adding that the MP will appear in court.
