The task force, led by Bugweri County MP Abdu Katuntu was unveiled on Tuesday by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Anita Among. Katuntu will be assisted by other five MPs, Dan Atwijukire, Agnes Kunihira, Bernard Odoi, Anna Adeke and Dickson Kateshumbwa as parliamentary representatives to the national task force.
Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Monica Musenero expressed need for external experts to help with the pandemic saying that previously Ugandan epidemiologists have intervened elsewhere including herself when she travelled to West Africa at the height of the Ebola epidemic. Even with the strain in the number of health workers now, Uganda has not yet had any external health workers come in, she said.
A family member told Uganda Radio Network on condition of anonymity that Ahaisibwe has improved and wondered why he could have decided to end his life.
