Meantime, at the press briefing held at City House, Luyimbazi mentioned that Democratic Party will not turn down the invitation to join The Inter-party Organisation for dialogue(IPOD), a platform that brings together political parties for dialogue.
The latest controversy is pitting the NUP campaigns coordination committees in greater Masaka sub-region led by Florence Namayanja and DP Vice President Fred Mukasa Mbidde, who is now putting Kyagulanyi’s campaign posters alongside his.
But through his Twitter handle @norbertmao, Mao highlighted that the party was serious on the matter. “DP is a serious party led by serious people. The party has submitted more than the required signatures to support my candidature for the president of Uganda. Additional signatures have been arriving and have been submitted,” he tweeted adding that; “DP is in the race.”
Mao’s leadership has filed a suite before the High Court Civil Division against Rajab Senkubuge and his faction, Democratic Party Uganda. In his application through his lawyers, Semuyaba, Iga and Company Advocates, Mao wants court to quash Justice Bashaija’s decision that paved way for the said elections.
