A statement released by the US mission in Uganda on Thursday shows this three year project will be implemented by an NGO Strong Minds where they will focus on building the local evidence base around mental health and development in addition to increasing locally available, evidence-informed, affordable mental health services by training community members in how to effectively deliver these services.
The report shows that nearly 1.4 million Ugandans receive lifesaving ARVs through PEPFAR (more than 95 per cent of all HIV+ Ugandans) and over 1.2 million have achieved viral suppression that prevents the spreading of the virus.
The US has four travel advisory levels to its citizens: Exercising normal precautions, Exercising increased caution, Reconsidering travel and Complete travel ban.
“There is no guarantee that the Department of State will be able to continue to provide repatriation assistance and transportation options to the United States may be unavailable in the future. If you choose to remain overseas, you should be prepared to remain where you are for the foreseeable future”, the US government warned their citizens against any more international travel.
