Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor, Doreen Nyanjura, revealed that the victim of the shooting incident was her brother, Albert Cook Tugume, who owned and operated a mobile money shop near Fraine Supermarket in Ntinda-Kigowa.
The group is accused of causing a common nuisance by blocking pathways and creating disturbances during an unlawful procession to the Kenyan High Commission offices in Kampala on August 5, 2024.
The remand of the six people comes a few days after the former Forum for Democratic Change Party President Dr Kizza Besigye with whom they subscribe to the same party was also charged of similar charges and remanded to Luzira prison.
Some FDC party members, who spoke to URN shortly after Besigye’s announcement, said they will pursue other means to ensure that he appears on the 2021 presidential ballot.
