According to the terms of reference, the Committee is to investigate claims that public officers solicited for the payment of the bonuses totaling to Shillings 6 billion from the President contrary to standard practices of rewarding public officers
The Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi maintains that he will not step aside in respect of the ongoing investigations in the oil sector. The premier told MPs on the Adhoc committee on oil that resolutions of parliament did not target the Prime Minister but the President.
Members of the Adhoc committee investigating corruption allegations in the oil sector are sharply divided on whether or not to invite Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi and Internal Affairs Minister Hillary Onek to appear before them next week.
