The investigations follow petitions by residents citing a trend of corruption, delayed judgments and questionable remand of suspects. The courts under review include Wobulenzi, Kiwoko Grade One and Luweero Chief Magistrates Court.
Police in Kabale are holding the Kabale Chief Magistrates Court Clerk on allegations of soliciting a bribe of six hundred thousand shillings. Julius Zaribugyire is being accused of obtaining the money from Sylvia Kantwiiga, 58 and 34-year-old Ediviana Ninsiima. The two are mother and sister to Joseph Owomugisha who is on remand at Ndorwa Government prison on assault charges.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has dismissed two magistrates from the Judiciary after they were found guilty of corruption. Those dismissed include; Kisoro District Grade One Magistrate David Kaaye Cheptuke and Jinja Grade Two Magistrate, Okitwi Odutu.
