Alobo’s planned visit comes just a week after the Minister of Local Government, Raphael Magyezi gave Soroti City authorities an ultimatum of three weeks to resolve the mess in the allocation of space to vendors.
Dr Robert Ojala, the Senior Veterinary Inspector in charge of North Eastern Uganda told the City and district leaders that the Ministry had decided to repossess the land and will be used as a quarantine station for Teso Sub Region.
The relocation of more than 1,300 vendors started on Tuesday after months of disagreements between city authorities and the market vendors.
