According to the MoU which was signed under the leadership of the former Gen Kale Kayihura, the police was to provide land for the hospital; free electricity, water, and fuel for the generator and ambulances. The hospital would in turn provide subsidized medical treatment to police officers in return.
The Bill which seeks to replace the Fish Act and regulate the exportation of fish products was passed on May 3, 2022, and sent to the President for assent. But the President returned it to Parliament suggesting a review on a number of areas.
They include; George Kasumba, Agnes Nabwera, Sarah Nanyanzi, Mathew Kigozi, Mathew Kafeero Ibrahim Chekedi and John Damulira. The victims were reportedly picked up by security operatives from areas within Kampala, Greater Masaka, and Mukono during the 2020 campaign period.
While leading UPDF commanders before the committee, Jacob Oboth-Oboth, the Minister of State for Defence, said the army does not operate any safehouses and asked the Committee to help him identify them if there are people who are operating such.
