Although Uganda looked like they had pulled back the result, Malawi fought back to command the lead in the quarter 35 -32 before She Cranes also put a spirited fight in the last quarter to help the settle the result into a 44-44 draw.
According to the opening fixtures, Uganda will play Zambia, Namibia will battle Kenya while Malawi will take on Zimbabwe. All matchday one games will be played tomorrow on 1st November 2021.
Ugandan players however won individual accolades with standing out performances. She Cranes Goal Shooter Irene Eyaru won the best shooter of the series as well as Goal Defense Joan Nampugu scooped the best defender of the series.

In July, Members of Parliament resolved to contribute 500,000 shillings each for the She Cranes team which emerged winner of the 2017 Africa Netball Championships hosted in Kampala. In honour of the team, Parliament provided 222 million shillings of which 112 million was used to purchase the Isuzu bus, while the balance of 110 million is to be shared between the 15 players seven members of the technical team.
