This follows a dossier written by the Rt. Rev. Michael Okwii Esakhan, the Bishop of Kumi Diocese, in which he blames security operatives and local leaders for allegedly shielding the founder Bishop of the Upper Nile Diocese, Rt. Rev. Charles Okunya Oode from unreligious conduct.
Bishop Okwii has raised 19 complaints against the new Reformed Anglican Church -RAC group for which he seeks security intervention in. The complaints include theft, illegal and forceful conversion of church land, denial of access to church property, threatening violence, causing bodily harm, issuing death threats and vandalism.
“We have had a disturbance by conflicting Christians of CoU and the Reformed Anglican in many churches including Akisim- Kabwele CoU where the Reformed Anglican converts are chasing away the Christians of the Church of Uganda”, Oscar Gregg Ageca, the East Kyoga Regional Police Spokesman said in a text to our reporter.
He becomes the fifth bishop under the Reformed Anglican Church in Uganda to be installed since the church was registered in 2020. The Reformed Anglican Church was founded by the former Archdeacon in the Rwenzori Diocese, Prof. Jonathan Kyangasha after he was defrocked by the Rwenzori Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Reuben Kisembo in 2017.
Daniel Odongo, the chairperson of the finance and budgeting committee, says that they expect to raise the money from Christians and well-wishers of the new faith in the Upper Nile Diocese.
