A man at the centre of a case that sparked three days of protest in Bukomansimbi is out of police custody. Augustine Kalibala Ssebuliba, the former Butenga LC1 Chairman, was arrested after the remains of a child were found in his plantation.

The Court of Appeal has this morning upheld the life sentence meted out to jailed city businessman Godfrey Kato Kajubi by the High Court two years ago for masterminding the ritual murder sacrifice of a 12-year old boy Joseph Kasirye.
When the appeal hearing came up this afternoon, state attorney Simon Ssemalemba, informed the court that he was not ready to respond to Kajubiâ€™s appeal as he had just received voluminous documents and that he needed some time to study them in order to ably respond to the appeal.
