The survivor, a resident of Okwamwar Village in Palam Sub County was attacked on the morning of August 11, 2023, while his parents were away in the Ocorimongin weekly market. He was later found in a pool of blood and taken to hospital for medical attention.

A man at the centre of a case that sparked three days of protest in Bukomansimbi is out of police custody. Augustine Kalibala Ssebuliba, the former Butenga LC1 Chairman, was arrested after the remains of a child were found in his plantation.
In the chaos, Dickson Mutebi, a reporter with Bukedde TV based in Bukomansimbi, was stoned by a group of protesters. Mubarak Ssebufu, a reporter with Buddu Media Group who was also at the scene, says the group accused Mutebi of airing reports that claimed Kalibala was engaged in human sacrifice.

The Court of Appeal has this morning upheld the life sentence meted out to jailed city businessman Godfrey Kato Kajubi by the High Court two years ago for masterminding the ritual murder sacrifice of a 12-year old boy Joseph Kasirye.
When the appeal hearing came up this afternoon, state attorney Simon Ssemalemba, informed the court that he was not ready to respond to Kajubi’s appeal as he had just received voluminous documents and that he needed some time to study them in order to ably respond to the appeal.
