The Uganda Athletics Federation UAF has they did not protect jailed coach Peter Wemali who has been alleged to have sexually harassed female athletes in camp ahead of the 2014 Africa Cross Country Championship.
Kapchorwa Chief Magistrate\'s Court amended the charges against Wemali from rape to aggravated defilement upon evidence presented this morning to show that Wemali infected three national runners with HIV. The girls are aged 15, 16 and 17 respectively.
The matter was raised on the floor of parliament by Serere Woman MP, Alice Alaso. She said it is unacceptable that a significant person like Kipsiro receives death threats and government does not intervene to protect his life.
