ActionAid International says a surplus profit technically known as a Windfall profit tax could generate as much as US$382 billion in revenue, an amount that could be spent on public services .

The Authority says the findings of the report released at the beginning of this week were based on what it described as falsehoods.

Africa currently exports 70% of its crude oil and 45% of its gas. Global energy statistics indicate that Africa’s people have the least access to energy.
