Like other clans in Karamoja, the Ethur community has historically been under the Karamoja Elders’ Association for matters of tradition and cultural leadership due to the absence of a recognized cultural head.
In Abim, the bees invaded the courtroom around midday, creating widespread panic. Court staff, prison officers, police officers, litigants, remandees, and suspects were all attacked by the bees, causing 12 remandees and 7 suspects to temporarily escape custody amidst the chaos.
The matter came to light after Alice Awilli, the senior woman teacher, conducted routine medical checks on female students. While initial reports suggested two girls were pregnant one allegedly having undergone an abortion it was later confirmed that only one Senior Five student was seven months pregnant.
The 397.85 kilometers of road starts from Gulu City at Holy Rosary Catholic Church via Omoro to Pader crossing Agago before joining up Abim District and stretching North East to Kotido and Moroto.
