Magellan Luboyera, the Senior Town Clerk for Nyendo-Mukungwe division indicates that their decision to gazette some of the selected slums is intended to reduce the negative consequences of illegal structures that may befall the city and it continues to urbanize.
In their submissions during the Nyendo-Mukungwe Division Budget Conference that is planning for the 2024/25 financial year, the L.C II chairpersons decried that their areas no longer receive their statutory share of the local revenues, which greatly affects their operations and service delivery.
Michael Mulindwa Nnakumusana, the Chairperson for Nyendo-Mukungwe Division in Masaka City says the competitions are intended to challenge the communities to improve their general hygiene conditions right from the household levels in schools where hygiene will be deliberately integrated into study materials.
