In the President’s message that was read by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Col Tom R Butiime, Museveni said tourism plays and continues to play a critical role in rebuilding communities, restoring hope and fostering peace.
Elias Byamungu, the Kasese District Chief Administrative Officer, expressed confidence in the preparations made for the celebrations, ensuring that the event meets both national and international standards.
During a press conference in Kampala, Benson Baritazare Kule, Chairperson of the Kasese Tourism Investors Forum, highlighted the festival's significant role in uniting the diverse tribes and cultures that have coexisted peacefully in the Rwenzori region for generations. He pointed to the Cultural Gala as a key event where this unity is vividly displayed.
