EAC Resumes Operations After Two Months Delay vote on account

Before the meeting, Members of the East African Legislative Assembly threatened to boycott the sittings over arrears including delayed salaries of three months. The legislators also claim up to USD 2 million for the meetings they have attended online since the pandemic broke out, including USD 400 each as transport and USD 160 for sitting allowance.

Energy Ministry Clarifies On Money For Thermal Generators vote on account

The Ministry of Energy has said the money that was presented yesterday in the vote on account in parliament is not for purchasing power from the thermal generators but for capacity payment. While asking parliament to approve more money as vote on account than stipulated in the constitution, state minister for finance in charge of privatisation, Aston Kajara, said it was to among other things support the ministry of energy for thermal power.

MPs Okay UGX 4.6 Trillion Ahead of Budget Approval vote on account 1

After rejecting a 7-trillion shilling request by government, Parliament has okayed 4.68 trillion shillings as vote on account. Vote on account is the money that government is allowed to use within the first four months of the financial year as parliament handles the entire budget.
