Private Sam Eyal, a police officer attached to Kwania Central Police Station reportedly shot dead, Desmond Okao, a 22-year-old son of Okii-me-Okabo clan and a resident of Alany cell in Teduka ward, Aduku town council in Kwania District.
According to reports, Okao and a group of about 30 individuals, who were returning from a disco at Brun’s Night Club, blocked the road and began waylaying pedestrians. Attempts by bystanders to disperse the group proved unsuccessful, leading to a police intervention.
According to Jimmy Uhuru, the LCI Chairman of Aduku Township Cell, Awet was on his way to a marriage ceremony in Akot Trading Center when the incident occurred.
A police officer, who requested anonymity, revealed that the deceased was found lying next to a bottle of locally brewed waragi, commonly known as "Mogo amoga."
The suspects including 9 females and 25 males were arrested on Tuesday during the intelligence-led operations conducted by police in the areas of Kamshwali, Te-Atat, Te-Dam and Te-Kulo.
