Speaking to Uganda Radio Network, Sabiiti said the Commission has accepted the court’s findings and will not file an appeal. "We appreciate and welcome the decision of the court. We have taken a decision that we will not be appealing against it," said Sabiiti.
Muyizzi thus asked for stay of proceedings pending the decision and or the guidance of Court of Appeal so that the intended appeal against the ruling is not rendered nugatory and that they would suffer irreparable damages if not granted leave to appeal.
Although lawyer Muyizzi wanted to cross examine atleast 11 witnesses of Nambi, Electoral Commission lawyer in Charge of Litigation advised that they can point out where the issue is and then tell Court where they want to cross examine.
Speaking to Uganda Radio Network, the In charge of Litigation at the Electoral Commission Lawyer Eric Sabiiti said he will soon file more evidence to show that Nambi's petition is dead on arrival.
