Chief State Attorneys Richard Birivumbuka and Joseph Kyomuhendo submitted the charge sheet to the Magistrate. The court heard that on March 30, 2015, at Kiwatule, Nakawa Division in Kampala District, Agasirwe, together with others still at large, allegedly caused the death of Joan Kagezi with malice aforethought.
He told the court that he had known the three men since childhood and that they used to work in bakeries around Kalerwe before he joined the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) in 2002.
Kisekka was convicted on Monday following his own guilty plea to the charge of murder, under a plea bargain agreement with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. The state was represented by Assistant DPP Thomas Jatiko and Chief State Attorney Jacqueline Okui.
However, that Kisekka while on remand at Makindye Military Barracks, he escaped from the military detention and went to Kayunga to burn charcoal and started Charcoal business, six years after he had been on Court Martial remand.
