Ayer Seed Senior Secondary school in Kole district has been closed indefinitely over a violent students strike. Ahmed Musana, the Kole District Police Commander, says 12 students believed to be the masterminds of the strike are in custody at Kole Central Police Station.
Musa Kayongo, the Rakai District Police Commander, says he met with the school administration on Tuesday and discussed how the school can operate peacefully. According to Kayongo, he also counseled the students and apologized on behalf of the force for the shooting, which left their colleagues nursing injuries.
