Muntu says that it was by design, that the incumbent Yoweri Kaguta Museveni wins in particular areas and also downplays particular candidates including those in the presidential and parliamentary race.
According to Gen. Mugisha Muntu, there is need for the people of Kampala and other areas to be alert and not get confused with money scheduled to be spent by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party while casting their vote on 14th January.

Gen Muntu says while the FDC party chooses defiance as a means of fighting against the government in power, the New Formation is a strong believer in organization and diplomacy as a means of assuming power.
The nomination exercise follows the end of the first term of office of the current president Maj. Gen Gregory Mugisha Muntu who took over from Dr Kizza Besigye in 2012. Muntu who is seeking another term of office will be tussling with five other contenders.
