Bishop Makumbi lost the battle to throat cancer on Sunday at the Uganda Cancer Institute in Mulago, where he had been admitted for close to two weeks. His remains arrived at his home in Kako last evening.
Bishop Makumbi breathed his last from the Cancer institute in Mulago where he was admitted 2 weeks ago after battling the disease for 6 years. He was aged 52.
Christians in West Buganda Diocese have praised Archbishop Henry Luke Orombi for his exemplary service but asked him to intensify fight against homosexuality even after retirement.
