The West Nile Foundation on Friday night raised over over 300 million shillings for the newly launched Education Trust Fund meant to sponsor University students.
The refugees, mainly ethnic Hema, Bagegere and Alur have entered into border areas like Dei and Panyimur in Pakwach District, Parombo, Goli and Angaba in Nebbi District, and Paidha and Padea in Zombo District.
A research conducted by Starkey hearing foundation, an international non-governmental organisation in West Nile established that most people misuse quinine which subsequently causes hearing defects especially among the children.Other persons found to share the problem are victims of domestic violence.
