Tayebwa said it has come to the attention of Parliament that the Government has been paying monthly salaries to the officers since 2010. Suddenly, the Ministry of Public Service wrote to Uganda Police Force – UPF management in October 2022 indicating that the officers were being overpaid and thus scrapped them off the payroll.
Joseph Ssewungu Gonzaga, the Kalungu County West representative said that the decision to pay science teachers in exclusion of arts teachers is discriminatory and contravenes provision of Article 102b of the Constitution.
