Twaha Ssemanda, the former Officer in Charge of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence Department told court that they had found leads that Pastor Mugambe could have been killed because of a land feud, money from abroad and 500million shillings accruing from the sale of cocaine.
It\'s now two years and two months since the death of Pastor Mugambe who was killed along with eight family members. Mugambe was killed along with his family on 13th January 2013 at Mutegombwa village in Kanabulemu village in Kyebe sub-county, Rakai district. The killing of so many people at once shocked not just Rakai district but Uganda.
A man thought to be responsible for the killing of a husband and wife in their home in Rakai in 2013 has been arrested.The suspect Emmanuel Magembe was arrested at Mutukulu, trying to cross into Tanzania on Tuesday.
Three men charged in connection with the murder of nine people in Rakai District have been committed to High Court for trial. The suspects allegedly murdered nine people all members of the same family in January 2013 at Mutagombwa village in Kyebe sub-county in Rakai district.
President Yoweri Museveni however blamed the Judiciary for the escalating killings. He explained that he was surprised that some of the suspects arrested in connection with murders are always released on bail.
