The deceased identified as Teresa Akiror, a resident of Apule Village in Kapujan Sub County was killed by a stray bullet when violence ensued between the supporters of Elakas and Joseph Andrew Koluo, who were both contesting for Toroma County NRM Flag. The two contenders lost the race to Julius Ossiya.

The Katakwi district leadership has cancelled the belated International Womens Day celebrations following the death of Toroma County Member of Parliament Cyrus Amodoi Imalingat. Amodoi, an Independent legislator, died in a motor accident at Kitigoma, Buikwe district along Jinja-Kampala Highway on Tuesday night. The 9:45pm accident claimed nine other lives and left 13 people injured.
