A first year student of Makerere University has drowned in the swimming pool at the university this morning. ASP Denis Kasibante, the Officer in-Charge Makerere University Police Station has confirmed that John Paul Mirimu, a student of Information Systems and resident of Nsibirwa Hall, died on arrival at Mulago Hospital.
The marine police unit in Buliisa district has embarked on a search for the bodies of two fishermen who are believed to have drowned in Lake Albert on Easter Sunday.
Mathias Turyasingura, the Pallisa district police commander, identifies the victims as Augustine Omudong, 12, Sulaiman Ziraba 7 and Birari Mujoji aged eight years.
