UPDF Completes CAR Withdrawal

The contingent commenced a phased withdraw of troops from the Central African Republic on 19th April 2017, ending nearly eight years of manhunt for Lords Resistance Army LRA warlord Joseph Kony. In a statement the statement says the final batch of the troops began trekking from their concentration base in Nzara South Sudan three days ago under the overall command of Brigadier Richard Otto who has been the Ugandan Contingent commander in CAR.

UPDF to Produce Movie on LRA War 1 3

Major Ceaser Olweny, the UPDF 4th division Public Relations Officer says the army is making the film to document its success against LRA. He says the film will also be a bravery training tool for new recruits in the army. The film will be acted in two forests in Omoro and Gulu districts.
