The MP has been battling complications in his lungs since November 2017. He was hospitalised at Agha Khan Hospital late last year but his health deteriorated early this year.
During the meeting, the party members accused Kiyingi of supporting Immaculate Nabawanuka and Adam Bazibumbira, the independent candidates for Bukomansimbi Woman and Bukomansimbi North parliamentary seats respectively.
In his statement, Kiyingi says the utterances by his rival are defamatory and meant to destroy his reputation before right thinking members of society.
